    Report From Coach Rossi

    Bucksport Invitational 9-14-19

The Royal Bulldogs showed tremendous heart at today’s Bucksport XC meet! They competed against some big class C schools. Orono, Bucksport, George Stevens, Bangor Christian, Searsport, Deer Isle Stonington, Central, Sumner and Narraguagus.

The the wind was cold, and raw. The temperature was 45 degrees which personally is to cold for September. The course was a tough 3 miles.

In the combined JV boys and girls race Emily Lunn brought home an 8th place ribbon 28:28, Mileena Sylvia brought home a 9 th place ribbon 28:58, Kailee Parker 30:38 narrowly missed a top ten spot. Hannah Faulkingham finished strong 33:08, Kaiden Demarest 31:40, and Michael George 33:43.

Jaydin Anderson finished strong in the varsity race with a time of 22:53 She gave those Orono and George Stevens girls a run for their money. No easy task when it comes to competing against those two teams

Proudly, she brought home a 9th place medal in the varsity race.

The boys all ran an amazing race. Finishing strong in the varsity race for the boys was Jason Weaver with a time of 19:01, Aric McCurdy 21:32, Leif McKenna 21:46, Tyler Demarest 22:45, followed by Alex Look 25:47.
All of you did a great job.

I was very proud of our managers today. They helped anyone who needed it. They just jumped in and got things done without being asked. Thank you Kendra Johnson, Emily Pinkham, McKenna Robinson, and Alex Cox who couldn’t run today.

To my families thank you for all of the treats, and for making the long trek to cheer everyone on.

There was no quit in any one of them!! Kudos for their inner strength and determination!

Our next race is Tuesday at Lee Academy. Remember the bus is scheduled to leave at 12 noon. If you are taking a college class make sure you let your instructors know. They will excuse you to attend your sports function. You just need to tell them. The Running Royals load on the bus at MMHS.

Take the next two days and rest those legs up. I want you all to stretch really good before going to bed tonight. Tomorrow go for a walk and check in. Monday get caught up on your school work.

Parents wash their uniforms, and remember do not dry them in the dryer. You will melt them.
